We are celebrating Black History Month by honoring the Black women who have shaped East Point’s history. Current Mayor Keisha Chapman will join former mayors Earnestine Pittman and Patsy Jo Hillard for a special discussion about leadership, service, and the unique experiences of Black women in public office. Moderated by Shean Atkins, the panel will explore personal journeys, lessons learned, and the ways these leaders have advanced equity and opportunity in our community.
This event will highlight:
Stories of resilience and determination that paved the way for future generations.
Practical insights on governance, civic engagement, and community-building.
Reflections on challenges faced by Black women in positions of power and the strategies they used to overcome them.
Inspiration for young people and community members to pursue leadership and public service.
Join us to celebrate legacy, leadership, and the ongoing contributions of Black women to Eastpoint’s past, present, and future.
